Chipper's Bloggy-Thingie...

COMEDY NOMINATION - YIKES! : )

The LA Comedy Awards recently nominated Chipper under their "Most Hilarious Variety Comedian!" category. The special event will take place in March, in Los Angeles, naturally (no, not Louisiana!) and Chipper is busy working on his acceptance speech, and also his loser speech. Unless, of course, it's a 'TIE' and he'll do a little from both. Big THANKS to the nominating committee! We here at "Chipper Industries" are looking forward to the evening! CHEERS!

BLiNK! RECEIVES RAVE REVIEWS!

Chipper recently starred the special engagement of "BLiNK! - An Evening of Award-Winning Comedy, Magic & Illusion!" at the Battle Of The Dance Theater in Anaheim, CA. The mad red-head hosted the show and performed four comedy spots as well for this high-energy, family-friendly stage production. The show also featured two-time "Stage Magician of the Year!", Danny Cole, ventriloquist Kevin Johnson (recently seen on the David Letterman Show), and "Illusionists of the Year!", Michael Giles and Melanie. The show ran for 18 performances and received rave reviews, as well as fantastic reviews and comments online on sites such as Yelp, TripAdvisor, GoldStar, and more!

"BLiNK!" has been touring performing arts centers for 5 years now, and they will be soon posting their 2012-13 tour schedule in the next few weeks! So stay tuned, as the show will hopefully be magically appearing somewhere NEAR YOU! Cheers!

Wow! What a whirlwind these past 4 days! -- Hot off a corporate gig in Los Angeles, I had only a few hours to re-pack the props and fly out to Dallas, Texas. I had been asked to appear in "The International Superstars of Magic & Comedy" at the Majestic Theatre, as part of the 83rd annual IBM convention. No, not the IBM as in computer geeks who rage against the Mac, but IBM as in "International Brotherhood of Magicians" - A giant and well respected organization which brings amatuer and professional magicians together from all over the globe to experience the awe and wonder of.....Well, you know....magic. : )

It was an honor to perform at their special gala performance and such a nice surprise to see so many old and new friends. (Quite a few have appeared on our larger stage production, "BLiNK! - An Evening of Award-Winning Comedy & Magic!" - But that's another story for another website....Ahem.) The evening was well attended as tickets were sold not only to conventioneers but also the general public, and we were featured on every news channel within a 60 mile radius. Yippee-Ki-Yay! The Majestic is a beautiful old venue, lovingly restored, including a 3-tiered balcony. The incredible one-time only performance included some of the best magic acts from around the world. (Pictured above is my good friend, Timo Marc - all the way from Germany, who also appeared in the show with his own highly original & award-winning act.) It was joy to perform in such a wonderful environment. The audience was FANTASTIC and it was truly a memorable time for all. So here's a tip of the old cowboy hat to you, Dallas, and all the magic fans who came out of the woodwork and caught the show! CHEERS! -- Chipper : )

Pardon Our Digital Dust...

Yep, the internet elves are hard at work making things look a little fancier around these here parts. Some pages are still in "turn-around" (a word which in Hollywood usually refers to a script that will probably never see the light of day.) but will be magically appearing within the next week or two, I promise. (My fingers are crossed behind my back, but I have a BIG smile on my face!) We hope you like the changes and that you'll stop by often to see what we've thrown up on the blog from time to time. Thanks to all the many fans who have supported us through the years! We greatly appreciate it!

We also wish to thank our new WONDERFUL agency! -- Center Productions, Inc., based in New York, NY. (We were thinking of signing with an agency from New York, Idaho, but it never felt like the real thing. And just because you took a picture of yourself standing in front of a 2-story tall Statue of Liberty made from 80,000 corn husks does not make you a true native of the Big Apple. So we quickly rethought our options.)

Center Productions, Inc. is run by the incredible Lurea Murphy and Laurel Canan (Although Lurea does not own a Murphy bed, nor has Laurel ever fired a cannon.) They have been in the 'biz' for many years and are just a complete joy to work with. Looking forward to seeing what they dream up as we continue this journey together. : )
